Volunteer

Our Steps4Life event is one of our biggest events of the year and requires the help of anywhere from 50 to 80 volunteers! Do you have a passion for serving and desire to be involved in a bigger way?  Fill out the form below to sign up as a Steps4Life Volunteer. There’s a volunteer role for everyone! You can select your interests in the form below. You will also receive a free t-shirt and training on your specific task.

VOLUNTER ROLES

Set-Up or Tear-Down

  • This role does not require training prior to the event.
  • Set-Up and Tear-Down volunteers are the main help on the day of the event and should be able to lift and move items as needed.

Tech Adviser

  • This role does not require training prior to the event.
  • Sets up all tech and electrical on the morning of event. Runs music and mic transitions for the program.
  • Time commitment is between 6:30 AM and 12:30 PM

Group Host

  • This role does not require training prior to the event.
  • A group host leads a group of 30-60 people around to the different stations, keeps track of time at each station and should be able to carry a 5 lb. sign with their group number on it as they walk to each station.

Obstacle Actor/Actress

  • This role does not require training prior to the event, but does require memorization of a short phrase.
  • For one of our stations, we would like to have some like actors/actresses. You don’t need to have a lot of experience to do this. You will have one or two lines that you will repeat as people walk through your station.

Registration Table

  • This role requires training prior to the event.
  • Registration volunteers will assist with checking people in and collecting any last minute money raised.
  • Volunteers must be at least 20 years old and comfortable with handling lots of details and money.

Station Host

  • This role does not require specific training prior to event, but does require memorization of a script.
  • There will be 8 different station hosts. Each station host will welcome the guests to their station, explain what it’s about and give any directions to the participants. A script is provided to help guide you through what to say. You can have notes with you to help remind you, but we would like it to be memorized as much as possible.
  • Upon becoming a Station Host,  you will get to pick which station you would like to host (first-come, first-serve basis)

Booth Hosts

  • This role does not require training prior to the event.
  • Before the program starts (during check-in), there will be various booths guests can stop by. We need volunteers at the Hospitality Booth, the T-Shirt Booth, and the Kids Zone.
